The new addition is well underway as Gary’s
completion goal gets nearer. Mark Beauregard and Jim Williams
overcame the problems with the high water level and successfully
poured the foundation in early April. Within just a few days,
Randy Goodwin’s crew began the intense job of framing 4500
square feet of new store and now we are nearing the completion
of the third and final phase of the new additions.
The new addition will allow us to centralize
our store by combining all the departments
under one roof with an expanded selection of merchandise. We
also plan to reduce congestion by running two separate sales
counters.
|
|
Also, we have two new employees at the
Rangeley store!! The new voice on the phone is Darcy Robinson in
our administrative department. She and her husband Chris moved
to Rangeley from South Paris three years ago. Josh Doscinski is
our newest inside sales rep. After four years in the Army
stationed in Georgia, he and his wife Sarah have moved to
Temple.

How to
make your paint stick |
Have you been frustrated
with your paint finish after having spent an entire weekend on a
job you thought would take only an afternoon? Professional
painters will tell you that a quality finish is the result of
proper preparation, product choice, and application. Some
commonly asked questions are:
|
|
Q:
If the paint was shaken is the prep done?
A:
No – Dust, mildew, grease, and moisture will dramatically
shorten the working life of your paint. Not removing paint that
is peeling, blistering, and scaling will doom your paint job
from the start.
Q:
When do I Need to Prime?
A:
Whether it is wood or masonry, if it is a bare exterior surface,
you want to prime it.
A:
You also want to prime glossy surfaces that you are unable to
sand as well as bleeding woods (cedar, redwood, etc.)
Q:
When is Priming optional?
A:
When vinyl and aluminum siding is in sound condition.
A:
When the previously painted surface is not glossy and the color
is not significantly
different.
Q:
How do I ensure uniform color in my
topcoat?
A:
"Box" the paint by pouring several cans into a clean 5 gal
bucket. This will prevent there from being any color variances
in the finish coat.
